Goodbye Little ol' Rangely

Welp! I’m getting Transferred, I got the call last night so I leave tomorrow morning! Crazy stuff. Kind of mixed emotions about leaving now that I know I’m leaving I’m kinda sad but I’m sure if I would have stayed I would have wished I got transferred. lol I will miss little 'ol Rangely though. So I will write ya next week and let ya know where I’m at. Man I hate packing. blah.

Well anyways things this last week have been pretty good. Nothing really too exciting that I can remember. All the days seem to blur together now it’s really weird. I can’t separate them. But I did get my ticket all taken care of so that’s good thanks mom for that. The two wards are having a pine wood derby tonight so that’s cool and they asked us to help with it we helped set up last night and tonight we have to weigh all the cars in and me and Elder Oshea are the judges so that will be fun.

I cant remember if I told you last week or not but we tracted into a PMF and are teaching the wife the lessons now so that’s good and they are blessing there twin babies in church this next week so that is good. I think that since I’ve been here the work has picked up so that’s good, I’d like to think I’m leaving the area better than I found it, so I hope that’s the case lol.

Man Syd got her braces off? Crazy ya you will have to send me a pic. I’m sure she’s gorgeous.

And to dad, ya I know, I love that talk from Elder Holland as well it’s so awesome. We have had lots of lessons in priesthood and such about it lately, and every time I read it or hear it its just so powerful it’s amazing. Oh can’t remember if I told you but L. Tom Perry is coming to our mission this February! like the 17 or something so that is going to be way cool, so hopefully I go back to metro so I can actually be there to hear him cuz they might have to broadcast it to elders way out there like in Rangely so this is a good time to get transferred lol. Well things are good here hope you all know how much I love you guys, thanks for everything!'

Blah, well this last week has been kinda tough and crazy. So ya the doctor’s appointment went well, they made me do some breathing into a tube test thing and also did X-rays of my lungs, but everything came out normal. So they don’t really know what the deal is but they did prescribe an inhaler, so that’s one cool thing lol. And it really works well. It’s crazy. But the last couple of nights I wake myself up cuz I can’t breathe and I’m hacking up a lung, so I grab my inhaler and that helps me breath, but I still continue to cough a bunch. So I don’t know it just randomly happens, but it keeps me AND my comp up all night, so I feel bad for Elder Oshea cuz I keep waking him up. So I don’t, know hopefully it gets better.

So the second thing that was no good about this week was that unfortunately on our way back from Grand Junction I was driving and I got a speeding ticket :( It was night and on this highway it’s 65 in the day and 55 at night but I just thought it was a suggestion not the law. So I was going 67 and got pulled over. What made it even worse was the registration and proof of insurance wasn’t in our car where it was supposed to be, so the officer was nice so he talked to our senior missionary in charge of all the cars for a bit, and gave us a warning on the paper work but did give me a ticket for speeding. $170. So ya. No good. So if you could transfer money into my account I guess maybe from my tax return or I’ll pay you back once I get home. But if you transfer it for me I can get a money order and mail it in and do it that way. So ya sorry about all that.

Well that is really awesome about Alan’s call, ya I was wondering why it took so long, do you know when he leaves? Way cool, if you see him tell him congrats for me.

Well other then that, everything else here is going good, its snowing right now, and ya it’s still cold. Transfers are this next Thursday, so I will let you know next Wednesday if I’m staying or going. Not too sure what will happen. I think either of us could go or both stay so ya. Well have a good week. I love you all very much.

Hey there family and friends! Well Rangely is well...still Rangely. lol It’s good but not too much new exciting news. This last week and a half or so we have had a lot more success with receiving referrals and tracting into some good potentials, so that is awesome! There are now a couple of families we are working with that seem very promising so that is awesome. We have an appt. tonight with our Ward Mission Leader’s next door neighbor. He asked them if they wanted to take the lessons and they said yes, so that was really exciting news here :)

So ya I did get the package that you sent, thanks a bunch for everything in it, and yes it is the correct charger so thank you! And ya I did get a package from grandma! I got fudge! It was so good, and the gift card to subway as well, the fudge was so good that the members I live with were stealing it! lol I was mad.

So tomorrow is another zone conference, so yet another road trip. This one is actually in a city called Riffle, but we are going to a different zone's conference because I have a doctor’s appt. Recently it feels like I have asthma, when I work out or shovel snow. My throat kinda closes up and I can’t get full breaths and I weez and cough lots. So finally I had had enough so I set up an appointment down in Grand Junction to get it checked out. It’s really annoying. lol I hope I get an inhaler, how cool would that be? But ya so I will fill you in next week on what the doctor says.

So uhh check out YouTube, search "When Boredom Strikes Dunn Oshea". We had a member upload our video to YouTube for us. lol It’s pretty lame but kinda funny :) Love you All

New Year's Eve in Rangely

Well hey!

Ya so I had a pretty low key New Years as well lol as you could imagine. We had to be in the house by 7:30pm, then my comp and I pretty much just sat around. We did play some card games, that was probably the highlight I guess. Then just went to bed. lol It was pretty sweet. But ya the GPS works great, thanks again. It really helps out a lot and makes things a lot faster when trying to find someone’s house. But no I haven’t gotten the package yet, but I’m not sure if our members have got the mail the past few days.

Well things are still running smoothly in Rangely, just trying to find people to teach. It feels like I have been in Rangely my whole life and I know everyone and everything about the town. It’s kinda weird, it makes things kinda tough it feels like I’ve done everything there is to do here. Now I guess I have to go back and do it all again. But it’s going good, Rangely kinda grows on ya after a while. Well I gotta get running, sorry this is kinda short. Love you all and hope you have a good week!

Home, home in Rangely.

Dec 30
Hey there familia! Long time no talk. :)
Oh that’s pretty cool BYU won. Ya I heard they were playing Oregon lol lots of people here in Rangely are way into football, that’s pretty funny about the BYU sign and all that. That’s just like dad to finally have one day off and to do chores that day, who else is in that pic? I was confused.

So will this be your first Sunday teaching gospel doc. ? or were you teaching D&C too? K sooo just some bits of advice for ya just that I have noticed in other classes and teachers and stuff. First off try take note of if there are any non-members or investigators in the class before hand and if there are then stay away from the deep doctrine or talking to openly about the temple as well. That is something we missionaries have to kinda watch out for sometimes in some wards. The topic gets way crazy and people speculating on things that we don’t know, and there is a non-member spouse or investigator there and we are just kinda cringing as they talk. But you have a gospel principles class there though right? So most likely they will go there. Another thing that kinda bugs me is when the teacher doesn’t teach doctrine! or they say well this is what I think.... that kinda stuff shouldn’t be taught, only what we know. So ya there is my two cents worth lol. I’m sure you will be an awesome gospel doctrine teacher :)

Oh, so our mission office moved yesterday, so it’s not the 2001 e. Easter address anymore, not too sure if you ever give that address out to people or not but its now

Colorado Denver South Mission
Mission Office
999 E. Tufts Ave
Cherry Hills Village, CO 80113

So ya it’s now in a church building instead of an office building, kinda weird huh.

Well things are still good. I can’t believe it’s almost 2010, how crazy is that? Where did 2009 go? Well I better get going. Hope you all have a happy new year! Love you all!

Dec 16
Hey there. Well things are going good here in Strangely, lol Christmas is approaching fast, everyone in town is getting ready. There was a cool light parade, can’t remember if I told you this or not, but ya it was pretty fancy! There were a total of 8 floats in the parade lol so it wasn’t very long but it was fun. It’s beautiful out here in the winter, we have gotten so much snow here its crazy, but its cool when everything is white, all the streets, the trees and mountains. It does make me wanna snowboard really bad though. That’s one downfall to it. Well tomorrow are transfers so we got our call last night and my comp Elder Coley is getting transferred so I go pick up my comp tomorrow so that will be fun. It’s about a two hour drive to the city where we meet for transfers, it will be fun driving back with my new comp so I get to know him. lol The two hour drive there is nothing, just mountains and deer the whole time, it will be funny to see his reaction. I remember I was like what the heck where are we going? lol We are in the middle of no where so it will be fun to see his reaction now that I’ve been here for a while and am used to the small town. Well I better get going love you all! Have a good week.
