Christmas Devotional

That's pretty funny about the rebellion with the girls, I could totally see them all doing that, ya if I were you I would call their bluff too. Where do they even get money? How does Clara pay for gas she doesnt have a job does she? She should work at Harry and David like I did when I was 15 on the line, lol. That would be funny I could see her whining about that. lol Good stuff.

Well any who, wow that temple trip sounds way awesome, 45 worthy priesthood holders going to the temple! That's so crazy. It weird how growing up in the ward and then coming on a mission and serving in many wards and being able to attend PEC weekly, how much you learn and understand more about the church and how a ward works and all that. I've come to realize how awesome our ward is, and how strong it is. That's awesome.

Well, so this week we got to go down to Grand Junction again because we had a Christmas Devotional. So we drove down the night before and stayed the night there BUT it snowed like over a foot and we had to come down from the mountains so it was crazy! We went the long way because the fast way was over Douglas pass which is gnarly way high up its kinda like "the shelf" but two ways up then down. It was so slippery and of course we have little Toyota Corrollas, two wheel drive coming over a mountain pass, it was so gnarly. We drove like 35mph the whole time it was crazy! It ended up taking about 5 or so hours to get there. Once we got on the well travelled high way it was a little better, but still pretty bad and of course there are tons of stupid people thinking they can go fast, we saw 7 cars the had spun out and were in the ditch, it was crazy.

But the devotional was really good we talked alot about Christ of course read The Christmas story in Luke, watched a few little movies and sung alot. It was fun. President and Sister Christison, our mission president after they had received their call in 2007, but before they had to report to Denver went on a trip to Jerusalem and got to go the the Mount of Olives and so he gave a training on that and the atonement and when they were there they bought a whole bunch of olive oil and actually consecrated it there near where Christ performed the Atonement and gave every missionary a little bottle of the consecrated oil from those same trees that Jesus was amongst. It was really awesome. Its really neat to have. The whole devotional was awesome and very spiritual. we also got a knitted hat, and a Christmas CD. It was nice. Lots of work that's alot of hats to knit lol .

Well so that was the highlight for the week for sure, all the driving in the snow wasn't fun (actually it kinda was lol) but it was worth it. Rangely got dumped on with snow too about a foot or so, this morning we woke up and it was -10 out side brutal huh. Well I better get going, but I just want to tell you how grateful I am for Jesus Christ and for this wonderful season for us to recognize his birth and all he did for each of us. I love you very much!

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Dunn Family! So ya not a normal pday, but we get time today for email, then tomorrow is a full Pday so ya. Good news we have a dinner for Turkey day! Pretty exciting huh? Someone finally felt sorry for us and signed up so that is cool. But as for the rest of the day, I have no idea what we are going to do. So are you having anyone over for Thanksgiving or is it just the fam? I’m not to sure how our meal will be, I hope it will be good, but it was just nice of the family to have us over, so I’m happy with that :)

Ya and to answer your question mom in your letter the members we live with are in Salt Lake for the week so ya that’s why they aren’t feeding us. But ya we live in their basement and we do share the kitchen and fridge and all that. We are supposed to have our own shelf set apart, but we have are own bathroom, that’s a must, so ya that’s kinda how it works.

Man that’s so cool about Alan, I didn’t know that! That will be so good, I love that kid lol.

Oh thanks so much for the letter and pics and package. I got them all yesterday! I was so excited! Thank you, and thanks for the food! I’m gonna get fat now that I’m not on a bike lol. Oh soo for Christmas I’m thinking about a GPS, now that I’m in an area where we drive lots and go far. It’s basically a need, my comp Elder Coley has one right now, but I think he is gone next transfer, so ya that would be nice for Christmas. I really like the "Garmin" brand they seem to work the best.

Hey and it was good to here from Clara and Syd. Man here in Rangely they get the whole week off from school isn’t that crazy!?

But ya so basically for this week the population of the city died to like half of what it normally is cuz everyone is out of town. So this week is hard for missionary work, we had our district mtg yesterday in Craig, it’s like 90 miles from here. So we drove up the night before and stayed the night. It was in the BIG city! Craig has about 10,000 and they have a Wal-Mart! Crazy! It’s funny how being in the town you get so used to it, I mean when me and Elder Coley got to Craig and saw all the ppl and stop lights and all that we were like wo! Feels like we are back in metro lol and we were complaining about traffic if we had to wait for more than two cars! lol it’s funny. But it was a fun trip, I gave a training on the power and authority of our calling and how to be a successful missionary, it went well.

Well I better get going, I love you all. Have a good weekend and make sure to eat lots for me. :)

Medford Second Ward!

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas. Things here in the Colorado Denver South Mission are going very well. I love being a missionary and being able to feel the spirit daily and help play a role in bringing souls unto Christ. I hope this holiday season you will all remember the true meaning of Christmas and strive to give those around you the greatest gift of all, by sharing with them the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love you all and thank you for all that you have done for me and all of your support.

Rangely, CO

Hey there fam!
Ya I did get your letter mom, thanks :) That was crazy about that bear lol I couldn’t believe that. So while you’re getting new carpet and moving the TV and all that, you guys should just buy a new TV! Right? It’s about time to don’t ya think? A nice big 52in flat screen HD TV, that’s what you should do lol. Man that’s crazy about Bro Schmidt, ya he was in there for a while, but I think Bro Whitney will do really well.

Man 12 baptisms this year, that’s way awesome! I always tell missionaries out here of the success there and what’s going on and all that, like me and Elder Bragg were talking about that last Wed. at the temple and talking about how we wanna serve in the Medford ward. lol Man and I just read my comp that paragraph about the zone blitz, that’s so awesome! That could be put together so well and have people follow through with it and make it happen. That’s way awesome.

Ya I have heard from Seth, he has written me two or three letters and sends an email every once and a while. He is doing good and loving it. He had his first baptism last week, and I think what he was saying is that it was in the ocean! And he did the baptizing so he said that’s every missionaries dream in his mission and he experienced it his first or second transfer. Way cool.

So I got transferred and I’m basically in the middle of no where! The town I’m in is called Rangely, and about 2,000 people live here. There is one stop light, three gas stations, one grocery market, three liquor stores, this place called Burrito Express AND a Subway. lol And that’s it! We also cover another town called Dinosaur that is about 20 or so miles away, it has 200 ppl there and we usually go out there once a week. But they do have the "B & B Restaurant" and they have a 2 pound burger and if you eat it all you get your pic on the wall, so I’m probably gonna have to try that. lol But its way crazy here. The closest set of missionaries to us is like a two hour drive and that’s to a town of 10,000. That’s where we have our district mtgs but we only have one district mtg a transfer cuz it’s so far. Everyone here drives big trucks and wears Carhart clothes and hunts. It’s pretty awesome. Oh man BUT check out my pic! Dinosaur is about 4 miles from Utah and about 18 from Vernal. Everyone in town goes to Vernal for all of their shopping and all that cuz everything is way! outrageously priced. Its crazy cuz they have a monopoly on it so they can put the prices to what ever they want and unless you wanna go to Utah (or even can in my case) you pay what they say. Every once and a while some members will go to Vernal and ask us if we need anything so that’s good. But Friday we have a zone conference that’s going to be in Grand Junction so we have to leave Thursday for a road trip to GJ, so that’s like a little over 100 miles and then we will stay the night with missionaries and do zone conference Friday then drive back. So while we are there we are going to do some shopping and stock up on anything we need cuz it’s a lot cheaper there.

So there are two wards we cover out here so that’s cool. We live with one of the bishops, the Millers, they are really nice. They live in "La Mesa" oooo! lol That’s basically the richest neighborhood here so everyone out here says that when we tell them where we live. lol Its funny. Well that’s a little bit about Rangely. Well I’ll talk to ya next week! Love ya Elder Dunn

Changes

Well hey hey! So we are in a huge snow storm right now! It started last night and hasn’t stopped, they are saying we could get up to 14 inches so ya we have about 7 now and it’s still coming down. So that’s cool. It will be fun to go out into it tomorrow, today is good cuz its pday so we don’t have to be out there.

Well ya lots of changes, we were right they took two wards and made one ward and two branches. Pretty crazy. Some people are upset about it cuz they have been in the Lakewood ward for ya know like 30 years (cuz everyone here is older lol) so ya that’s the excitement going on here. My area has gotten alot bigger. So ya but transfers are this next Thursday so and I have been here 3 transfers so I might be getting moved out of here. We will see what happens. I’m happy either way, I don’t really have a preference right now.

Man that’s crazy that Stewy is back. And about Chanelle, that’s cool, and Chris Pederson too lol that’s crazy. I didn’t know he was that old? Weird lol

Ya mom so that was a zone conference. lol and ya I eat alot of spaghetti, that’s a standard I think. So ya but as for what I miss I’m not sure I was thinking about that the other day actually and I want some good pancakes. I haven’t had good pancakes in a while. Or some nachos with homemade guac and salsa that sounds good too. But we get a fairly good variety out here so that’s good.

So that’s crazy Jace is here? There is..or was a diesel school in my ward, there is a younger member I’m close with here that goes to it actually. I might have to ask him if he knows him that would be crazy. Side note about this member that is cool, he served his mission with Jody Zimmer! They were buds on there mission kinda crazy right :) Well I better get going, but things are good here just lots of snow. lol Have a good week!

Snow in Colorado

Snow in Colorado. So we got some more snow last night, nothing too much, just like an inch or so. I think it’s mostly melted by now, but it’s still pretty cloudy and chilly. Hey, cool, glad you liked the pics. Ya so it’s a Casio Exilim. I think it’s like 9.5 meg or something like that. It’s pretty fun. So ya thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. Ya things are good. I guess I’m hanging in there :)

Things around here are going good, still struggling with some new solid investigators. And this week there are rumors about things happening in the stake. The other ward we share the building with is hurting for membership and such, so word on the street is that they are splitting the Alameda ward (the ward we share the building with) into two branches! Then giving us the Lakewood ward part of their boundaries so our ward gets a few more members. So ya pretty crazy stuff, we will see what happens.

This week is also the primary program, the Lakewood and Alameda youth are combined cuz they are both small so we are all meeting together and I guess our mission president is coming as well so ya exciting stuff. I’ll fill you in on what happens.

So ya, things are good here, oh I bought a sweater at Ross the other day cuz I didn’t have one so ya, well I guess you bought it for me cuz I used your card. lol So thanks, it’s just what I needed, how did you know!? :) Have an amazing week!

Lakewood Colorado

October 14, 2009

Well another week gone by, as usual things are still good here in Lakewood (lol I feel like I kinda write the same things every week, I hope its not too boring) So remember how I said the weather was perfect? Well this last week has been way cold. We got our first snow about and inch maybe inch and a half and it didn’t get above 30 for two days straight. Pretty crazy. So there is one saying here in the Denver area, "if you don’t like the weather wait 5 minutes" meaning you never know what it’s gonna be like, cuz today it’s like sunny still, kinda brisk, but supposed to get to 66 so and tomorrow will be the same I think, so the weather is just kinda messing with us. So we are still tracting a lot here still struggling for some investigators. Oh man!! Exciting news so finally!! after about a year after Elder Perry came out with the 20 lessons, our stake is going to receive training on it! So that happens tomorrow, so all bishopric and auxiliaries and their counselors are to attend. So that is way awesome lol but... our bishop is going to be out of town tomorrow, so he won’t get the training, sooo hopefully everyone else gets pumped up about it and can get him on board with us. So that’s good.

October 7, 2009

Well hello! So things here in Colorado are going good, the weather is definitely changing that’s for sure. But for the last two days we have had the perfect in between weather. Today is sooo perfect, clear blue skies, the leaves are all orange and yellow and red. And snow on the top of the mountains and like high 60's low 70's. I’m loving it, it kinda makes me home sick though it reminds me of Oregon. But I guess it’s supposed to start getting colder by the end of this week so I will have to enjoy it while it lasts.

So today was temple Wednesday so that was cool, every first Wednesday of the month the Denver metro area you get to go to the temple so that was awesome as usual. I got to go in the same session as Elder Bragg. I sat right behind him to make sure he didn’t fall asleep lol. He just came back to the metro area like last week so I haven’t seen him in like 6 or so months so that was fun to get to be with him and fill each other in on what’s going on at home and all that.

I sent you guys a letter yesterday, so you should be getting that in the next couple of days. I sent a SD card with a few pics and videos on there. You will probably need to transfer them all over to the comp to see the videos so ya. That should be fun :) well that’s all I got going on here hope everyone is good and having a great week love you all!

September 30, 2009

Well yup it’s another pday. Things are still going good here in Lakewood, Colorado. Wow I totally didn’t even recognize Lone Pine, that’s so crazy. It looks really nice now. And ya I did hear a little bit about the fires those pics you sent didn’t work though I don’t know I’m kinda short on time but I’ll have to try to check them out later. I also heard about the flu in Medford? There is this phone number you can call called "tell me" and they give like top stories nationwide and some missionary listened to it and it talk about Medford on there. Pretty crazy. So what’s up with that? Well ya not too much new here though, we are really trying to focus on the 20 lessons in this district and most of the zone too. Trying to get ward leaders behind us on that. So that’s what we have been doing. I think we are making progress so that’s good. But ya things are going pretty good. Just trying to work hard and be happy :) Have a good week.

Oregon Rain

Hey there, hey so you got my card? That’s good. So did you guys watch the DVD of Ragged Mountain? What did you think? It was pretty fun. So ya and I hope those pics work too, I have had those made for like a couple months but never got around to sending it out. Those are all pics from my first sd card it was a 1g. lol and now I almost have my second card filled up and its a 8g, so ya lots more pics. lol I’ll have to find the best way to get them to you guys. Well so we got our transfer calls last night and both I and my companion Elder Crunkleton are staying here in Lakewood this transfer. So no changes for me. There are lots of changes in the zone being made though, so it is always fun to get to work around and with new missionaries. So that will be cool. Well it has started getting cold here last night it got to 36 and right now its a lot like Oregon, 50 cloudy and just a light misty rain thing going on. I like it, it reminds me of home and its good for a change lol It’s funny to see missionaries that this is their first winter and they are like from Arizona where its 80 in the winter and see them whining and complaining about how cold it is lol and it’s only around 50, its funny. I think of Oregon where people wear shorts year round and just put on a jacket if it gets cold, kinda funny. So this week, as others, flew right by. We are just incorporating splits each week with the high priest so we did that this week, lol I say high priests cuz there aren’t enough elders in the ward to make a presidency, but ya so we do that every Wednesday from 7 to 9 so that’s good. Last week I also got to talk to a guy that had the swine flu so that was kinda cool lol. Well things here are good. Hope you’re all doing good. I’ll talk to ya next week :)

Coops Letters

September 16, 2009
Hey there :)
Well good to hear from you. Ya kinda the same thing with me this week, not a lot new. But it has been a good week. It was crazy on sat. The weather was way cold like 50's all day and raining. I had to bust out my jacket. Pretty random lol I forgot how much fun it is riding in the cold rain.... but it is just barely starting to cool down here other than that day. The leaves haven’t started changing yet.

Ya I was lucky like Syd with school when I was a freshman, Luce was a junior and could drive and then same with soph then junior year when she left I got mine lol it works our perfect. Dang that’s still kinda weird to think about Clara driving, crazy.

So that family with the horses, I think we are going over there tomorrow to help them out so hopefully they come to church. That would be awesome it has been a while since we have had someone at church. But ya not a whole lot of news this week. Oh I did get a letter from Seth so that was cool he was in the MTC in the Dominican but I think he is in Puerto Rico now so ya that was nice. Well love you all have an awesome week!

Elder Dunn

Sept 2, 2009
Well hello! Another week has gone by. Man time feels like it flies by, its crazy we are already half way through the transfer, and its like I was telling Lucy that I know there are people in my area that are being prepared by the Lord to receive the restored gospel and we just need to find them but man the Lord is really good at hiding people. We are working hard to find them but I know there out there. We did find one family that seems really cool we don’t know them to well yet but we might have found some of the people being prepared. They are a family of a mom and dad three girls like 14, 15 and 17 and a little 4 year old boy. We tracted into them and they knew who we were, they said missionaries used to go over there about 2 years ago, but they invited us back so we stopped by and just kinda got to know them they are pretty cool. But we will see, I asked them why they did go to church before and they said they have 6 horses in there back yard and the only day to clean up everything is Sunday. So I offered to come over on Sat. when they are all gone doing horse practice stuff for like this crazy horse like trick things. lol I don’t know what it is but ya so to go over and rake all that on Saturday so they can go to church on Sunday and I think it might work so ya that is cool. Well I better get going I’m gonna send you guys some pics here before it’s too late. k love you guys!
Elder Dunn

August 26, 2009

Well hello there family! Well today is another wonderful Pday lol. So let’s see man there really isn’t a whole lot of new info from the past week. We are just hitting the doors hard trying to find new investigators. We did have a zone conference this last Monday so that was cool. We talked a lot about Joseph Smith history and things like that and talked about how to be a baptizing missionary it was good. I love zone conferences they always getting me a spiritual boost and extra excitement to do the work. And it’s always fun to be around all the missionaries. So they put together a DVD from ragged mountain with pictures and some videos and stuff its really awesome. Man and they used like lots of my pics and videos in it to cuz mine pics are awesome. lol I have really gotten into photography since in got my new camera. I’ve always got it out and taken pics of stuff its fun. So ya well I will send you the DVD so you can see what it was like and all that so I’ll be sending that in a while but ya so things are still good here I’m still alive! Lol when do the girls start school, they started here like this Monday I think. Crazy summer went way fast. Oh and I bought a new suit! At Savers, it’s a thrift store, but it’s a way nice suit. It’s like a greyish pinstriped suit, it looks like it has never been worn and it was 10 bucks! So that was pretty exciting. Well I better get going I’m all outa time. Have a good week!
Oh is Lucy still at home or when does she go back and can I get her address thanks

Have a good week!!

Catch up

Well hello again! Man this week flew by, crazy. Time flies when you having fun:) So ya transfers are tomorrow and my comp is leaving and I am staying so my address is still the same. So I get a new companion tomorrow morning so hopefully he is cool lol. That sounds like a really cool fireside with the converts. That’s awesome, three seniors, wow. I wanna serve in our ward lol Well lots of changes this transfer every companionship in our zone is affected so that is crazy, it’s cool though. I like getting the chance to work around and with new missionaries and get to know them and learn from them as well. So I’m excited for this transfer.

Dang that’s awesome mom about your training. We have been trying to go running as much as we can this last transfer. We had a good little loop that we did, it was about 2 miles I think, but ya it was fun just trying to stay in shape. lol Actually I haven’t gained any weight which is weird cuz most the elders have gained like 20 pounds or so… and I’m already small to begin with. lol so ya its kinda funny.

Well everything is good here in Denver, but I better get going, we still have to get some shopping done and see if I can’t squeeze in a nap. lol Have a good week love you guys.

Elder Dunn

Hey there. Thanks dad for all the advice, we are working with them. So we ended tracting 41 hours last week pretty crazy. That’s a lot of doors. lol I think it’s like the record. But anyways ya so transfers are the 13th.

Well I got to go to the temple today so that was really awesome. We are so blessed to be able to go every month. The Denver north mission only gets to go once on their mission, on their one year mark and that’s all. Crazy. It’s great to be able to get that extra spiritual boost and to be able to learn more about the gospel like you were saying dad. But ya things are going good here, I think my companion Elder McMullin will get transferred and I will stay, lol That’s my prediction, but I’ll let you know next Wednesday what happens. Well I better get going love you all have a good week!
Elder Dunn

Hello family! What is new? Man it was 108 in Medford? That’s craziness I hope it doesn’t get that bad here! It seems like we have a rain storm here like every other day or so its crazy, but it does cool it down so that’s nice. Ya I got an invitation to Suzanne’s wedding that’s way cool sounds like that will be fun.

Man and I didn’t know that Danny got his mission call! That’s so cool thanks for letting me know. And no I haven’t talked to Seth in a while do you know an address for him? That would be cool. I did get to talk to Elder Bragg about two weeks ago he called me up it was good to talk to him cuz we haven’t really served near each other at all so it was good. When I talked to him he had already gone to ragged mountain because he was out west so they went the week before metro, so he was telling me about it. But ya it was really awesome. It was so beautiful I’ll have to send you some pics. It reminded me of Oregon being up in the mountains. It was a really spiritual boost. And it was fun to be with all of those missionaries and see old comps and stuff like that. But over all it was awesome. We hiked up like 4 miles away from camp and there was a natural spring that we all filled up our water bottles with, that was cool, and then we got to take the sacrament right by the spring. Then we had about a hour and a half to hike off by ourselves (within site of another missionary) and just sit there in the forest and pray and read our scriptures and just ponder. It was really awesome. I think that was my favorite part. And of course we got fed really well lol so that was cool too :) But over all it was really fun, I had a blast.

We asked our bishop if we could speak in sacrament to try to get the ward fired up about missionary work, so we spoke last Sunday. All four elders spoke, first was on the atonement, then the restoration, then why we do missionary work, and then me on how we can do missionary work. It went well. Our top investigator just moved out so now we aren’t really teaching anyone and we are working our really hard trying to find new people. We are tracting 45 hours this week but we need the wards help.

Well I’m out of time, but things are going good here. Hope you have a fun trip and good week love you all!

One Year Mark

Well hello! K so this week has been crazy, there was an ET and I got moved! Crazy huh so I’m now serving in Lakewood, Colorado. It’s not too far from where I was before, it’s like 20 mins from my old area, so it’s just outside of Denver. I’m in the Lakewood ward on the west side. There are two sets of missionaries in the ward. My new companion is Elder McMullin, he is a cool guy. I was actually his district leader out in Grand Junction, so I already know him pretty good, he is cool. So ya crazy stuff, they called me Monday night at like 8 and said you’re moving, pack your things, we will get you in the morning. lol So that was a fun and hectic night. But it is all figured out now so that’s good. I live with a member again, he is an older man, Bro D, he lives by himself but he seems nice.

So today we get to go to a Rockies game so that will be fun.

Anyways ya tomorrow I hit my year mark. That is so crazy, it’s weird. It feels like I have only been out a few months, but at the same time it feels like I’ve been a missionary forever. Over the past year I feel like I have learned a lot. My knowledge of the doctrine has increased so much. Before my mission I had a basic understanding of the gospel and knew it was true but now after learning so much, bearing testimony so frequently and feeling the spirit daily I know that the Lord leads this church and sits at the head of it and that we truly do have prophets in the these days. It has been a great experience thus far. It has been hard, it’s not all a vacation. Some days it is really tough to keep going but then the Lord blesses you and answers your prayers and helps you through the day leaving me stronger than the previous day. I know this church is true and I love teaching everyone I come in contact with about it.

I love you all. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me. Have a good week :)

Short on Time

Hello family man this week flew by! Man and sorry if this is short, I’m short on time. Today was crazy which is why I’m emailing late. We were lucky to catch the library while it was still open, but anyways things are still going good.

So transfers are next Thursday the 2nd, so ya hold any mail unto I let you know what happens :) We will see. I have no idea what will happen, we will find out on Tuesday night so I’ll let you know on Wednesday.

That sounds like lots of fun at the youth conference. That pic of dad with the bow tie is pretty sweet lol, what is Luce gonna be doing as an internship, does she know yet?

So the weather has still been way crazy, it seems like we get a thunder storm every day, which is ok cuz it cools everything down for a bit, but it’s not cool if we are walking somewhere or biking. lol But it was like 93 today, I think. Gross 93 in pants and a tie on a bike up hill is not very comfortable lol as you could probably guess.

Oh man my companion ran into a fire hydrant today! It was way intense! He is ok but we will need to do some repairs on his bike before it’s rideable but ya that was exciting. Well I gotta get going, it’s getting late. I love you guys! Have an awesome week!

Rain

Heylo family! Hey thanks for the pics mom! Way sweet, looks like fun stuff. Dang Clara and Sydney are way cool! Man it’s so weird, I still think of them as way little, but they’re honkin 14 and 16, that’s crazy! When we meet some one that says they’re one of their ages I’m like what?...I have a sister that old? Weird! But ya thanks for the pics, and I’m glad you got mine too. Ya we just went to the library during our lunch and I hooked up my camera with a USB cord so, ya fun stuff.

Well things are still going good here in Denver. This week flew by, it’s crazy! Well it has rained every day for the last like 12 days crazy huh? And of course if it only rained 20 mins out of the day that 20 mins we were on our bikes of course. lol It was pretty ridicules. I have been having to switch out shoes and pants to let the other ones dry and then the others would get wet. lol It’s crazy but fun.

Man I know dad, today you’re 48 that’s crazy! I was sitting in our room at night about to go to sleep on Monday and was like dang! My dad’s bday is on Wed. Crazy! But I’m not gonna lie lol I did not know it was 48, that is old lol crazy. That’s awesome that you’re still running and all that though. That is good for an old man :)

Well, this week was good I can’t really think of anything that stands out, did lots of tracting in the heat or the rain, our ward is doing pretty good at achieving the 20 lessons. We have two sets of missionaries here in Bible Park, so the ward is really trying to get 40, well minus the appointments we have with investigators, but still that’s a lot. They are getting pumped up so that is good, well I better get going, everything is going good here love you all! Have a fantastic week!!!

Tornado Season

Hey there, so yesterday was crazy, we had a lot of stuff going on and so we didn’t have much time to email and I just replied to the emails I had and I realized I didn’t get one from you guys so I didn’t send one lol So I’m just taking some of our lunch and emailing you real fast.

Well everything is good here, Robin is doing really good we have an appt with her on Friday and we hope to set her with a baptismal date! She is so ready so that is way awesome.

The weather here has been so crazy! Man, on Sunday we had hail the size of golf balls and there were tons of wind and stuff. Tornado sirens went off because not far from where we are, there was a tornado that like did quite a bit of damage. But ya there are tornado sirens on intersections every half mile and they are way loud so that was crazy. We have had thunder storms like everyday for a week, it’s so crazy. So me and Elder Mullenbach are used to riding our bikes in it now cuz it happens like everyday, it’s crazy.

Well sorry this is short but I had to at least send something out to let you know I’m alive :) Hope everything is going good.

Man so the girls are out of school now? Crazy! Has Clara applied anywhere yet?

Well have a good week!
Love you all Elder Dunn

Good Zone Conference

Hello! Man I know what you mean, it feels like every week is going by fast. There are only 4 more weeks in this transfer! Crazy!

That’s cool the ward mission seems to be way on top of everything, that’s awesome, with the ward correlation mtg (dang mom you're so gansta) and all the baptisms, that’s way awesome! You’re on fire, keep up the good work.

About the burning, so that used to be a tradition but! it has been shut down by our mission president that we shouldn’t continue with it so nope no burning for me lol. So ya my new comp Elder Mullenbach, he is a good guy.

Man that’s so crazy, school is out. Sounds fun. Tell Clara to go get a job lol. Well everything is going good here we need referrals! lol Robin, the 70 year old is still doing good. She has an awesome testimony. She is taking this seriously so that is good.

We had a Zone Conference on Monday and Elder Shumway from the Second Quorum of the Seventy came, so that was pretty cool. He talked about bearing down in pure testimony and justice and mercy it was really good. He was a really goofy guy, I thought it was going to be all serious and stuff but it was really relaxed. It was good!

Well I better get going. Have a good week and love you all.

Elder Dum
(That’s what these cool kids in my ward call me. They’re 6 and 8.lol It’s pretty sweet)

Getting Hot

Well hello there! Sounds like things are going good in Meddy, same with here in Denver. So ya my day is good, today actually isn’t our p-day we had it on Monday cuz it was Memorial Day, so ya but we are allowed to email today. The week has been going good too, I have a new companion his name is Elder Mullenbach and he is from San Antonio, Texas. Pretty cool. He has been out 3 months so he is pretty green lol

That’s way cool, Clara got her license, way cool. So is she driving the truck? Awesome.

That’s way fun that you guys got to go to the coast. That sounds like fun. Man its getting hot out here and it’s always fun to be in pants and a tie on your bike when its 90 degrees out side. lol I’m not gonna lie, some of those pools we ride by at like apartments look pretty inviting. lol

That’s cool Syd is playing the guitar, I’m jealous. I’m sure she will be better then me when I get back I’m like no good now. lol I need to practice. lol

But anyways I don’t know, not a lot of news. Things are going good here we have that one investigator.
So that’s great but we really need some referrals from our ward. lol We need more solid investigators. That’s way cool you guys have a baptism this week that’s awesome. Well I better get going, have a great week. Love ya

Birthday in the Mission Field

Hey yup you got your email out in time :) lol
Oh so ya about that money lol wow you noticed that already? lol Dang you’re good. So I bought myself a b-day present, a new camera. Mine was kinda being lame, the buttons were broken. I will have to send you guys some of the videos we have taken, this camera is way cool, it takes high speed video. It can take video at 1000 frames per second! Crazy huh? Like a good normal camera can do like 25 or so. So, with this you can do way, way slow-mo like water splashing, rain, and like when you throw keys in the air, it just looks like they’re floating, it’s way cool!

Man I can’t believe school is almost out, that is crazy. So when is Clara’s driving test? That is soon right? Let me know how that goes. That’s cool Luce got to come home for a while, I bet that was nice. And ya I got my package. Thanks so much. I like the tie alot and the shirts are perfect, thanks.

Man it was totally a record for most mail for me on my b-day, I got 8 letters! Crazy huh? One from Susie and Phil, aunt Deb, Gma Carol, Sis. Johnson, the Crows, and a few others, pretty cool.

Oh man, I have forgotten to tell you like the last 8 weeks. I have forgotten but it was the weirdest thing, back when I was in Grand Junction and with Elder Welch. We were walking around Wal-Mart on p-day and this guy walks by us and says, “Hey Elders” and I look at him and I’m like wait, I think I know that guy. He kinda looks like Corey Johnson from my home ward. I tell Elder Welch and he is like, ya right what ever, and I’m like no for reals. So I run back after him and I just say his name loud so if it’s him he will turn around and if not then I don’t look stupid. lol But it was totally him, he is in the singles ward down there. Well I guess he is getting married soon but ya way crazy huh!

And another thing I keep forgetting to tell you is!!!! I had avocado eggrolls a few weeks ago! We went to the Cheesecake Factory and it was delicious! So so good! So ya I just need to tell you that lol.

Anyways things are good. Transfers are tomorrow and my comp Elder Larmouth is getting transferred. I’m getting a fairly new missionary; it’s a follow up training assignment, so that will be fun. So I get him tomorrow. Fun stuff.

So ya that’s about it things are good we have that one investigator, Robin Davis that is 70 and she is getting way close to baptism, she is so ready. We have an appt with her tonight so that will be good. Well I better get going. Dang this is way long. Love you all, have a good week!

Wicked in Common

Hey there family, so ya things are going good here as usual. Ya I didn’t get your email last week mom, so ya I just read it. That sounds fun about you and Clara going to see Wicked. I was just talking to a lady the other day about that. We actually were tracting this apartment complex and saw some people loading up a big moving trailer, so we offered to help them. Anyways, she had a Wicked poster signed by the cast and I told her about how I went and saw it and going into the show I wasn’t too excited about it, but I had three sisters that really wanted to go. So I was like ok whatever lol and then came out thinking it was way awesome so ya that was cool. It was neat to help her out too. She was definitely short handed and afterwards she took us to Applebees! Yum and we got to discuss the gospel with her and hooked her up with the missionaries in the town she was moving to, so they could help her unload everything. It was neat.

But anyways, it sounds like you guys are all staying busy! That’s good, me too. lol Elder Larmouth isn’t totally over it but he is good enough to go out and work, so that is cool.

Oh man did I tell you about my bike? lol So me and my comp decided to "murder out" our bikes, meaning black on black. lol So we took everything apart, like down to just the frame of the bike during lunch and stuff then sanded down our frame and bought some flat black spray paint. lol So ya it looks pretty sweet. lol Everything is black. I’ll have to show you a picture. Sorry dad lol I know you don’t really like flat black lol. But anyways that was fun.

Things are good with the work, we have a baptism this Sunday, and so that is cool and hopefully one shortly after that. So things are good. Well I better get going. Sorry I’m short on time today we are going to a Rockies game so that’s should be fun. But I love you all! Have a good week!

Catch-Up April Letters

April 22, 2009

Hey there, yup back in Denver. Elder Bragg is a zone leader now, I don’t know if you heard, so that’s pretty cool. But the area is pretty good; I’m still trying to figure it out. Last week was stake conference, which was really good. But I have only been to Sacrament once and the bishop wasn’t there when I went, but I met him at stake conf. But I didn’t even know he was the bishop till after talking to him lol.

My comp has been sick! It has been way lame so we have been in the house since like Saturday! I was going crazy just sitting in the house all day for that long. He is just starting to get better today. So that is good, man I’ve listened to so many talks and read so much scriptures lol but I’m definitely ready to get out of the house lol.

So ya I will get to go to the temple the first Wednesday of the month so that will be really cool, I missed that from just the 3 months I was out west.

One thing we have done to make investigators feel welcomed, was just introduced the investigator to everyone at church, just everyone that walks by grab them and say, hey have you met our investigator, Soandso this is Bro. Jenson and kinda force the ward to get to know them and then hopefully by doing that they will meet someone that shares some interests and will be a good fellowshipper, but ya that is tough.

Oh remember the Margaritas that I was teaching? Well they are getting baptized and asked me to give a talk at the baptism since I’m so close, so that is cool! I will get to go to that, they are way awesome! Did I tell you they sent me a package when I was out west with a whole bunch of Mexican candy and a really nice note thanking me for bringing them the gospel? It was really cool, they are awesome. Well I better get going things are going good, have a good week!

April 15, 2009

Well hello there family! So I totally got transferred, I’m back in Denver! k so I was in the Crestmoor ward when I was in Denver and now I’m in the Bible Park ward, which is just south of Crestmoor. We boarder the Crestmoor ward so its kinda crazy, I’m like back in the same spot and so its cool cuz I know my way around and everything. It’s kinda weird to be back here again. So and there was a family in the Crestmoor ward I think I talked a little about them, the Browns, they are way cool and so I am now living with their parents. So I live with the browns if that makes sense. So the Browns that I know came over and said hi and stuff it was cool. So but the Browns that I live with are like in there 60s or so and they are real cool and the best thing is they buy us food! We just get to eat whatever we want and there is always food in their house and free laundry! Cool huh! So ya they’re cool and my companion is Elder Larmouth he is from Snowflake Arizona and we are brothers! lol He was trained by Elder Craft too. Pretty cool lol. He is fun. We are on bikes here and he likes to bike and I do to so we are always finding cool jumps and stuff its cool.

K so ya, I saw that I missed the package when they tried to deliver it, but after I left they got it for me and they zl's that I lived with had to come down to Denver for ZLC's (zone leader conference) so I told them to bring it for me and then they gave it to my new zls and they gave it to me last night so I got it! Oh man and it was Bevans that signed not Evans he was my mtc companion. He lives in my old place now so ya. Kinda fun. So ya man thanks so much it’s so nice! It’s not the like brown stripped one I thought it was gonna be. But it fits perfect and ya lol cuz my other black one that I have had since I was like 17 is like way nasty looking and uhhh on Thursday my first night here E. Larmouth made me jump a fence and I totally caught my blue suit pants on the suit and ripped like a 6 inch hole in the knee sooo ya lol. Wow and that is way crazy about tax returns. That’s sweet. Thanks :) well I better get going but thanks for the suit all the Moose Munch is already gone too lol love you all!

April 8 2009

Hey Grand Junction is doing good, I think it is finally spring, it has been really nice like high fifties its beautiful, lol

k so I have been in Grand Junction for two transfers now so when I got here I was with Elder Qaravanua, then he got transferred and I am with Elder Welch, now and the transfer is over now, so I just found out last night that I’m getting transferred! So I need to pack my bags and I leave Thursday morning. So ya pretty crazy stuff, we will see where I go now if I stay out west or if they send me back to metro. So ya does all that make sense now? lol

Man that’s crazy about Elder Phillips. I’m surprised he recognized you lol that’s crazy fun stuff.

So ya I got to see all the sessions, what? no fair you had the missionaries over for crepes! psh we weren’t aloud to go over to members houses to watch it. We had to go to the stake center. But ya conference was way good I enjoyed it a lot. I love listening to Elder Holland speak, I love how emotional he is, like he really means what he is saying. I really liked Elder Uchtdorfs talk in priesthood too. He is another one that is really easy to listen to, but it was all very good.

Well I’m kinda excited to get transferred. I like the area alot the ward is really awesome, but it will be fun to meet new people I kinda like that feeling of like being lost and not knowing were anything is and get to know the area and all the people. Well I’d better get going, I gotta pack! Blah by far my least favorite thing about transfers is packing. Well I’ll let you know were I end up and my new address and everything. Hope your all hanging in there and hope you know I love you all. Have a good week!

April 1, 2009

Hey there family, sorry about last week we didn’t have much time on the computer and I had alot to say in my presidents letter so ya. Well sounds like you had fun in Utah that’s cool. The weather here has been way weird too, it will randomly snow its crazy lol you never know what to expect. But ya hav

So ya my comp right now is Elder Welch. He is from Vegas lol so he drives on the same side of the road as us I think. lol jk So transfers is this next Thursday like the 6th I think, so that is crazy I’m thinking me and Elder Welch will both stay but idk we will see.

Oh ya I sent Britt a letter and wrote the whole thing with my left hand cuz I "broke" my right arm. It was pretty cool. It’s way hard to write with my left hand lol.

So is winter pretty much done over there? I think it should be wrapping up here soon, but ya no flowers are out yet here, lol and uh I’m not to sure if there are the same trees here I don’t really notice I guess but I do remember in the fall all the awesome colors which we do have in Medford so ya. Well ya things are still going good. We have a pretty decent teaching pool right now lots of re-activating in this ward. But things are going good, that’s still crazy Clara is driving that’s weird lol. Well I hope you’re all doing good and know that I love you! Have a good week!

Full Sunday

Hey there! Sounds like you’re all doing good and keeping busy. Dang that is so crazy, Clara is 16, and still crazy that Syd is 14, dang is that right? Man. Time flies when you’re having fun. I hit my 8 month mark on Monday, that means I’m 1/3 of the way done. It’s so crazy, it feels like I just got here last month. It makes me realize how fast time goes and how short my time here in Colorado really is, and that I need to do my best and make every minute worth while so I can look back on my mission without any regrets.

Anyways, sounds like your way busy mom and that’s cool, it’s good to get food dropped off every once in a while for dinner. Dang I haven’t had Chinese in forever.

So me and Elder Welch are doing good, we get along great. He is super sarcastic like me, lol so its fun. Today is his b-day, he is 20, so we are celebrating by going to Chickfillet. lol Pretty fancy huh? lol

Oh, so on Sunday me and Elder Welch spoke. We were supposed to speak with this guy Travis that is going to Denmark on his mission he is really cool, I like him a lot. So it was suppose to be his farewell. He was supposed to go into the MTC today but on Friday he got a call from Salt Lake saying he doesn’t report to the MTC till May 13. So he has to wait like 9 more weeks. Isn’t that a bummer! They didn’t say why either, so now he is just chillen. So we were supposed to speak with him, but since he didn’t leave, it was just me and Elder Welch! And of course they didn’t let us know we had to fill the whole time until after PEC, with about 20 mins till sacrament. lol So that was cool, but it went really well. I enjoyed speaking. I spoke on prayer, it was cool. lol Then we had to teach the Gospel Essentials class that day too. lol So it was a fun Sunday.

Well everything is going good here in Junction. I’m staying busy of course. Hope you’re all hanging in there and have a good week!

Answer to Prayer

Hey there! Well not a lot new here in the GJ5th Ward things are still going good. I got my new comp, his name is Elder Welch. He is from Las Vegas. He has been out about five months. He is a good kid and good missionary; he is really goofy like me so we get along great, so that is good.

But let’s see, so it was really cool, on Monday Elder Welch and I were riding our bikes to go tracting and this truck was pulled over and these two Mexican guys were there and they were like telling us to stop. One guy about my age was like really excited to see us and you could tell he really wanted to just talk with us but he didn’t know English and lol I don’t know Spanish. But he told us he is Mormon and just moved here from Mexico and didn’t know where the church was around here. It was funny and he was talking to someone on the phone, in Mexico I think, and he was like here she is Mormon too, say hi. lol So we were like uh hi lol to the phone. But anyways, so I gave him the phone number to the Spanish Elders in our area and told him to call them and then we went on our way. But then the next day I talked to the Spanish Elders and asked if they got a call from him and they were like oh that was you, ya. I guess the guy from Mexico has been trying to find the church here but didn’t know where it was, so the night before he ran into us he knelt down and said a prayer, asking our Heavenly Father to lead him to the church or help him find it, and the next day he finds us. He is 20 and preparing to serve a mission. It was really awesome to be an answer to someone else’s prayer, its amazing how the Lord uses us as a tool to bless others. Well I better get going. I love you all and hope you’re all doing good!

First Baptismal Interview

Hey there family! Well, so we got our transfer calls last night. Elder Qaravanua is getting transferred and I am staying here, so I will get a new companion tomorrow pretty crazy stuff. I will still be the district leader, so that’s cool too, I like doing that. Last night I had the opportunity to give my first baptismal interview, so that was a cool experience. Oh man, so we will see if I get a car tomorrow or not lol. I’m kinda doubting I will get one but I don’t know we will see, if not its cool cuz the weather has been awesome the last couple of days. There is a number you can call and put in your zip code and they tell you the weather, so I always check it here to see what to expect and I always check Medford just to see how it is there, and it sounds like it’s usually about the same. It has been sunny, clear skies and like 50's so ya its perfect weather to bike and tract and all that in so that’s pretty cool.

It was fun yesterday, me and Elder Q had the chance to go out with this guy named Travis, he reports to the MTC in two weeks. He is going to Denmark, pretty cool, so he spent a few hours with us tracting and checking on potentials and stuff, it was really cool to have him there and to see him getting all excited and nervous. It was fun.

So ya with the apartment, its like I try to get it clean and like I will do all the dishes in the sink that is like way over flowing and then unload the dishwasher and tell the elders to “load as you go” lol but of course they don’t! lol So it just piles up again, but ya it kinda gets to the point of why even try. lol But since it is transfers this week we got it all looking good, so we will see how long it lasts. lol

But anyways things are going good here, excited to meet my new comp. But I better get going, Elder Q has lots to pack. I love you all very much. Hope you’re all doing good!

Great Learning Experience

Hey, so nope, no sign of a car yet, but transfers are this next Thursday so I will know then. So ya this transfer went by way fast! It’s crazy! So this is the end of my 5th transfer pretty crazy. There are 17 transfers in the two years. Craziness. But I’m really enjoying being on a mission. It’s fun and hard work, but a great learning experience and a wonderful opportunity to further my own personal knowledge of the gospel. So ya district meetings are fun, well a recent thing we have been talking alot about and trying to focus more on is L. Tom Perry gave a training to mission presidents and said every companionship should be having 20 sit down lessons a week so that is a goal we are trying to hit, whether it’s with members, less actives or investigators. So we discuss different ways to make that happen. That’s about three formal lessons a day, it’s pretty tough. This last week we had 15 and that felt like a lot, but its going really well.

So ya I basically just email you guys and Britt each week so that’s all :) I know sorry I haven’t sent pictures yet, I bought a new sd card so I will be sending your pics this week for sure!

But I don’t think I have gained any weight yet. I go between 135 and 140 and lol I don’t know if I have grown lol. Let’s see my favorite meal I cook, well its normally cereal or instant oatmeal for breakfast and pb&j or top roman. I bought some hot pockets last week so that was a treat lol. Oh man and I got mom’s package on Valentine day that was awesome thanks so much. Oh man I can’t believe you remembered about that dip stuff and wheat thins, that is so good! Dang! lol Thanks.

That’s crazy about Bear Creek, the main job here is in the oil field, like that’s what keeps this town going and there have been alot of people getting laid off. It’s hitting this town pretty hard.

Oh soooo, a new mission rule… we are a suit mission now, so suits all the time, lessons, church, tracting, everything sooo lol I think I need that other suit. Do you still have that one brown one? I have the blue one I wear all the time and the black one but I think I have only worn the black one like twice but that would be cool if you could send that. Well I better get going. Sounds like you’re all doing good. Love you all.

Work still Progressing

Hey there! Sounds like you’re all doing good and staying busy! That’s way cool mom about the sprint triathlon, that would be way intense, that sounds hard. So ya transfers are coming up on the like Feb 26, I think and president said we would be getting a car here in this area, so we will see if that prophecy comes true. lol and if I’m still here. So that will be way weird to have a car. lol

And no it doesn’t bother me if you call me coop lol its fine. That’s cool about the landscape design class, that sounds fun. Dang I can’t believe you guys haven’t gone skiing yet, man I sure would love to go lol. Oh hey, I had a few questions about Medford that people keep asking me and I don’t really know the answers lol. So how big is Medford, what’s the population, and how much rain does it get a year? Like inches and stuff lol cuz everyone that asks about Medford those are the two things they ask. lol So usually I just make up some numbers.

But everything is going good here in Grand Junction. The weather has been kinda weird the last couple of days its been sunny and low 50’s but the last two days there has been like 15 minutes of crazy wind and snow it’s weird, and not very fun to bike in.

But anyways the work is still progressing here we have a couple people that are progressing and I think are almost ready for baptism so that is good. The ward here is good, I like it, and it’s crazy its only 2 weeks till transfers again. It went really fast and I have been out 7 months now way crazy! Well I better get going, at 3:30 I guess we are going to play rugby with the Mesa State(local college) team so that should be interesting. lol I love you all.

I like Grand Junction

Hey there family! How are things in Medford? Well everything is going good here in Grand Junction! Ya it is a nice place here, I like it. It’s so funny cuz everyone I tell that lives here that I have been in Denver the last six months says, Oh I’m sorry and stuff like that. lol And the weather has been perfect here, it’s like in the 50's and sunny and blue skies! It’s way nice perfect when you’re on a bike.

So the work here is good, we have a couple of people that we are working with and hopefully we will have an investigator with a baptismal date here soon, but the work is progressing. It’s great to see how if we are obedient and do our part the Lord will bless us with success.

So, last week I put on our first district meeting, so that was cool and it went well. So far I’m enjoying being a district leader, it’s cool cuz I get to know the elders and sisters in my district better. So ya it’s going good, and our apartment is definitely looking better, now it has been cleaned, so that is good.

That’s awesome dad how involved you are with the missionary work in our ward, that’s really cool.

So how is everyone else doing, anything exciting happen lately? Well I’m just about out of time so I better get going. Love you all and hope everything is going good back in Medford. Oh and wow I heard Seth is driving my truck?? What! lol Just kidding! Well have a good day.

The Church is True

Hey there fam! Dang tell Sydney happy late b-day! So she is 14 now, that’s so crazy! So ya, the street is 25 1/2 sorry, did I put a fifth? lol my bad. Geez that’s crazy mom, about your sleeping. lol If I was dad I would be scared at night to sleep with you. lol

But ya, things are going good out here, I’m starting to get the hang of the area now and all that, so it’s cool. So no I’m just the district leader and Elder Qaravanua is the jr companion, but we are still on bikes! lame huh? lol and our area is huge. They had a car here in this ward last transfer but now I’m here, they took it away. lol But we had our zone conference and interviews last Friday and Pres said that we will have a car here next transfer, so that’s cool. The teaching pool here is good. We have four or so investigators that are progressing, and let’s see, two that are "soft set" for baptism, meaning they said once they receive an answer about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith they would be baptized, so that is cool.

So it’s all going good, I like the area. Our district only has three sets of companions including me, so only two sets for me to follow up with each night. lol One is sisters and that follow takes a little longer. But on man, I’ve got one minute before this comp logs me out, so I better wrap it up. I love you all and I’m doing good. The work here is great, I love teaching the gospel and feeling the spirit daily! The church is true!

Grand Junction

Hey there guys, how is everything going? So I totally got transferred! To Grand Junction! Crazy huh? It’s like a 4 hour drive from here to Denver, so ya I’m way out here in the mountains. Grand Junction is the biggest town out west. It’s like 120,000 I think, so it’s not too small, but it’s way different then Denver. It’s a lot colder and snows alot more! And I am now serving as a District Leader! Pretty crazy! So that is exciting and new so that is going good.

My new companion’s name is, ok ready for this? lol It’s Elder Qaravanua lol I just learned how to say it the other day. But ya he is from Fiji, pretty cool huh? He is way funny, I like him alot. He plays professional rugby for Fiji cool huh? So he loves that and he is always talking about the Tongans and Fijians and Samoans and Australia and New Zealand and all that, it’s cool. He travels to play other countries and stuff. So where were you dad in New Zealand? So he doesn’t speak English to well, well its good English, it’s just hard to understand what he is saying because of his accent, but its cool. I’m getting better at understanding him now. lol

It’s pretty cool I live in an apartment, we share it with the zone leaders so that is cool. It’s a pretty nice apartment but it’s way dirty and gross like ya way bad. lol But I look out my window of my room and I can see Utah! Crazy huh? It’s 25 1/2 miles away, that’s the road I live on, they do the roads by how far from the boarder you are. But ya its cool, so I’m here in the Grand Junction 5th Ward. They seem really awesome, the whole ward seems way on top with the missionary work, so it should be good.

Well I better get going, times up. But everything is good here, oh and ya I bought some gifts, I just haven’t had the chance to send them yet. Sorry I will do it soon though and send you my pics at the same time. So I hope all is well, I miss you all and love you!

Getting Transferred

Hey there so ya, I’m getting transferred! Pretty crazy, not to sure how I feel about that. It’s kinda exciting but at the same time I don’t want to leave like the Margaritas and I have gotten close with some families here in the ward, but it will be fun.

So I got the call last night and it was President that called, and he told me that I’m going to be serving as a District Leader in my new area! So that is kinda crazy, it’s going to be a lot more work and more time and responsibility, so we will see how that goes. lol I don’t know how to lead a district lol but I’m sure it will be a good experience and all that.

So today I forgot my wallet and my library card was in there soo, I had to wait till another Elder was done so I could get on, now they are like all waiting on me, lame! So ya sorry, this is kinda short, but all is well I’ll let you know my new address and about my new comp and all that soon. I still have to pack everything tonight and be at transfers at 6:45 and it’s a half hour drive so basically I’m not going to get any sleep. lol

But ya French dip is a good idea that sounds good!! Well I gotta get going love you all!

Good Here in Denver

So ya, unfortunately I fell a little short too. I’m still in the last bit of Alma. But ya I’m still reading and will hopefully be done here shortly. Ya I’m not the best at writing in my journal, I was actually kinda making that a new years resolution to do it each night, so I will let you know how that goes for me.

But things are going good here in Denver, and our investigators are still doing well and progressing. The Margaritas are awesome. I really enjoy being in their home and teaching them. Last night we went over there for dinner and had Pasole, its a pork stew thing and Agua do Jamica, its these little dried up flowers that you let soak in water over night then drain the flowers, add more water and add sugar. It was pretty good, and I can totally keep up with all the spiciness that they are throwing at us. Lol Elder Luce on the other hand has a harder time when it come to spicy food. lol It’s funny, but they are doing good and coming pretty close to baptism. The only bummer thing is transfers are next week (so hold off on any mail until I let you know what happens) and I have been here 3 transfers now so I could get transferred, so I would miss out of the Margaritas baptism. But It’s all good, I know the Lord has a plan and it will all work out either way.

The weather is here weird, one week it’s in the single digits and the next it’s like 55, its way weird. But its cool, and gas here I have seen it as low as 1.35! How crazy is that?

Well, I got to go through the temple today and that was a blessing as usual. And I got to talk with Elder Bragg so that’s cool. Well I’m outa time so I will talk to you later love ya!

Half Day P-Day

Hey there fam! Thanks for all the emails and to Lucy, thanks. Sorry I’m pretty short on time today cuz it’s a half p-day today from 10 to 1. Then work the rest of the day. But tomorrow (New Years Day) is a full p-day because basically everyone will be hung over and tired tomorrow, so ya. We helped a guy move this morning and it ended up cutting into our p-day time and we have to help this single older man at 1 with raking his leaves, so ya, pretty short on time.

It was really cool to talk to you all last week! It sounds like you’re all doing good.We will be going to the temple next Wednesday morning, so that’s cool.

Yes Britt did get me a scarf so I think I’m good with just one, so that is cool too. lol But ya and she sent me a cool tie with a lama on it, lol and some really nice church shoes and some cool moccasins too. So that was cool.

Well the computer is shutting down in 2 minutes so I better rap this up. Well I love you all. I’m doing great and still having fun. Happy New Year!
